The St. Archangel Michael church in Osikovitsa has been built in 1834 according to the preserved founder’s inscription on the western facade.
It is a large Renaissance temple, with a high octagonal dome and a bell tower on the west, one apsis, semi-cylindrical dome and two slope roof. The female ward and the balcony are in the west part of the naos. Later, the church was elongated with a vestibule.
A large iconostasis with fine carving, polychromated and gilded, separates the altar from the naos. It probably dates back to the same age, and was made by the Samokovian master Hristo. Two periods could be distinguished in the painting of the iconostasis. The investigation has shown that the original decoration of dado panels consists of scenes from the Hexameron. Some of old iconostasis icons are from 1835, In 1870, the brothers Naum and Nencho Chibouhovi from West Macedonia have gilded the iconostasis and painted the icons of apostles.
The exposed murals on the dome in the sector anterior to the iconostasis are also probably done by the two brothers.
A complete restoration of culture heritage assets in the temple was performed.
